What size water cartage tank do I need?
It depends on your vehicle and the job. Micro tanks (10–100L) suit quad bikes, ATVs and ute trays for spot spraying. Small tanks (200–600L) suit utes and single-axle trailers. 1,000–2,000L tanks suit tray-back trucks and tandem trailers, while 3,000–10,000L tanks are for medium and heavy rigid trucks and semi-trailers. Water weighs about 1kg per litre, so always check your vehicle’s payload and GVM before choosing a size.
How much does a full water cartage tank weigh?
Water weighs roughly 1kg per litre. A full 1,000L tank carries about 1 tonne of water, a 5,000L tank about 5 tonnes and a 10,000L tank about 10 tonnes — plus the weight of the tank, frame and fittings.
Are your water cartage tanks safe for drinking water?
Our tanks are designed for potable water use. If you are carting drinking water commercially, check the requirements of your state or local council and ask us to confirm the specification of the model you are looking at.
What is the difference between Aqua-V and AquaTrans tanks?
Aqua-V tanks are our standard range, made from UV-stabilised polyethylene in sizes from 10L to 10,000L. AquaTrans tanks are our heavy-duty range, built to a higher specification for mining, civil and high-use commercial cartage, in sizes from 1,000L to 10,000L.
Why do water cartage tanks need baffles?
Baffles reduce water surge when you brake, accelerate or corner. Less surge means a more stable load and safer handling, which matters more as the tank gets bigger. Several of our tanks feature anti-surge baffles.
Do you deliver water cartage tanks Australia-wide?
Yes. We deliver water cartage tanks across Australia, including rural and remote areas. Request a free freight quote and we will send you pricing and delivery options to your location.
Are poly water cartage tanks better than steel?
Poly tanks don’t rust or corrode, are lighter than steel (leaving more payload for water), and UV-stabilised poly stands up to the Australian sun. Steel tanks can suit some specialist applications, but poly is the most popular choice for general water cartage.
What are water cartage tanks used for?
Common uses include carting stock water, farm and rural property supply, dust suppression on mining and construction sites, fire fighting, horticulture and spraying, and commercial water delivery.
